Mosi Moon Jar - Natural

A contemporary interpretation of the Korean Moon Jar, crafted from translucent Korean ramie and shaped entirely by hand.

The rounded form of the traditional Moon Jar is reimagined through the delicate structure of ramie. Hand-stitched panels come together to create a quiet, sculptural form, allowing the natural translucency of the fabric to remain visible.

As light moves through the ramie, the surface reveals subtle shifts in color, texture, and shadow. The object changes with its surroundings, becoming both a vessel and a study of light.

Each Moon Jar is individually hand-stitched by Korean textile artist Yejin Shin in Los Angeles. Slight variations in stitching, texture, and form are inherent to the making process, making every piece unique.

Designed to be displayed with an inner acrylic vessel, the Moon Jar can be used as a sculptural flower vessel or experienced simply as a textile object.
